Naming and Memorial Ceremonies
We can help you create an intimate ceremony to celebrate your child’s naming, or commemorate the passing of a loved one. We have three beautiful outdoor locations to choose from:
– next to the main Stupa at the top of the stairs,
– under the Bodhi tree between the two prayer wheels, or
– at the Garden of Enlightenment.

Chenrezig Institute is able to provide you with a unique, natural and spiritual environment for your ceremony. We are also happy to provide you with tables and chairs for your guests and you’re also welcome to enjoy our café facilities for lunch or morning/afternoon tea.
If you would like a monk or nun to attend a Baby Naming and bless the child, or to say prayers at a memorial service – we are happy to arrange that. If your ceremony is presided over by a monk or nun it is customary to make a small offering to them.

We would love to host your naming ceremony. The suggested offering to the centre is $100 for the use of our grounds.

[separator text=”A Note About Weddings/ Commitment Ceremonies”]
Monks and nuns can not preside over a wedding or other commitment ceremony between two people. If you’d like a Buddhist Celebrant who can work with you to design a ceremony in line with your beliefs, we recommend that you ask a Buddhist celebrant to preside. We can recommend Allys Andrews, who may be able to travel from Melbourne to help you celebrate the occasion.
