Wellbeing Centre Gardens Project
The Wellbeing Centre grounds are undergoing a face lift. Works have already started on the gardens, retaining walls and the water feature, but for the next stage of landscaping to go ahead we humbly request donations for the following:
· erosion control and plants for the embankment
· concrete for the water feature
We have selected hardy, drought-resistant native plant species which will beautify the area and supply essential food and shelter for the birds. Once established, a network root systems will help bind soil to the slope. The installation of jute matting will increase soil stability on the steeper sections of the site and help weed control. The water feature will not only assist with drainage of the embankment, but also create a relaxing, ambient area next to the veranda.
Project update May 2017: Thank you for all your generous donations so far, we have started on the next stage of the water feature with a concrete pour to extend the water catchment. It was hard work all round but luckily the weather was really cool and dry. Next up we will seal the concrete and enhance the surrounding area and embankment with plants.
“Many thanks for your support”
