Our Art Studio

Welcome to our Art Studio

The idea to build and establish a thriving art studio at Chenrezig Institute was conceived around the turn of the new millennium by Lama Zopa Rinpoche, the Spiritual Director of the FPMT.

The art studio is now the creative heart of Chenrezig Institute, hosting a range of artwork in their gallery and shop. Traditional skills, processes and techniques are all skilfully employed to produce a diverse range of sacred Buddhist art forms including:

  • Stupas of various shapes and sizes

  • Concrete buddhas and mantra plaques

  • Plaster and resin tsa tsas

  • Prayer wheels;

  • Hand painted thangkas.

As well as a range of concrete statues suitable for outdoor and indoor settings, such as bowls, bird baths and butter lamps. Services also include:

  • Gold leafing

  • Filling Buddha statues

  • Blessing sacred objects

  • Mantra rolling

  • Art classes and workshops

  • Volunteer opportunities.

Much of the ongoing work in the studio is focused on the creation of memorial stupas for placement in the Garden of Enlightenment. We also fulfil commissions to produce stupas for FPMT centres around the world, in addition to supplying stupas to individuals for private use at home.
