About Event:
Bonsai is the appearance of a tree miniaturised, representing the appearance of an old tree in nature.
Bonsai demonstrations will happen each month, each with a different topic so that enthusiasts can progress in their bonsai knowledge.
The Bonsai Garden is open to the public each day. Located outside the Chenrezig Institute Art Studio.
The Art of Bonsai demonstration

Come join Tenzin at the Chenrezig Art studio to experience the Art of Bonsai.
Participants will learn about the various methods used for transforming plants into bonsai and the practices for maintaining them.
This is a perfect session for a begginers as well as those with some experience.
Please note that this is purely demonstrative, so participants will be watching as Tenzin works on a Bonsai Tree.
This session will be based on a Weeping Fig Tree.
About Teacher:
Tenzin is a regular dharma student at CI who started practising bonsai thirty years ago.
Now Tenzin is teaching bonsai classes at the Chenrezig Institute Art Studio. These practical sessions are part tutorial with a component having participants do some work so they learn and understand through experience.
Cost of the Workshop:
$25 - This is purely a demonstrative workshop. You can bring your own bonsai from home if you wish.

To register for the bonsai workshops, please email artstudio@chenrezig.com.au with ‘Bonsai Demonstration’ in the title and let us know your name and contact.
Let us know how many people you are booking in for.
You will be able to pay by card for the studio on the day.
Please note that participants do not receive a tree to work on during this workshop, as it is purely demonstrative.

Tenzin is also available most Wednesdays to talk about Bonsai at the Art Studio, from @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm .

Costing depends on the tree, size, species and work involved.
Whilst fees for this type work is difficult to set in concrete a guide will be:
small $ 40 medium $ 60 large $ 90
This cost is dependant on variable such as Age of tree, Style, amount of wiring, Pruning, both tree and roots, new pots needed etc.. However Tenzin will endeavour to keep the cost as low as possible.
