About Event:

These sessions are a shared experience between parent (or grandparent/carer/family member) and child aged 4-12 years, including a gentle guided movement, guided rest, storybook reading and guided Art inspired by the book reading.

Topic: ‘Looking after our creeks and waterways‘ 

This session is inspired by the messages and artwork in this book ‘I believe in Rainbows’ written by local Sunshine Coast Author, Steve Caine and Illustrated by Sunshine Coast Hinterland Primary School Teacher, Gavin Ireland. The aim of the book is to develop an awareness of the need to take care of our local waterways and wildlife. 

This session also includes a sleepy, guided relaxation, the storybook reading and then Guided Art focussing on the main character ‘Rodney the Rainbow Fish’. 

All Art supplies are included. Everyone gets to take home their own artwork.

Please just bring along a pillow and blanket for the sleepy, relaxing part.

Note: There are two workshops planned on the day. The cost of one workshop   (1 hour 15 minutes) = $30 (covers both parent and child)

About the Teacher:

Anna has a background in Education, the Arts, and the Yoga world and offers a shared experience for families and their children through storytelling, movement, guided rest and guided Art. Her inspiration comes from magical moments in nature, silence, life’s challenges, kind and compassionate experiences and the beauty of Life.

Anna is a registered teacher with QCT and a Member of Yoga Australia.

OPTIONS ARE FOR EITHER A MORNING OR AFTERNOON SESSION:

Session 1: (10.30am-11.45am) – 1 hour 15 minutes

 Session 2: (1.00pm – 2.15pm) – 1 hour 15 minutes

Please note that both sessions will follow the same format for 1 hour 15 minutes, except that the book readings will be different and thus the art themes will vary based on each book.  The idea is to choose one or the other, but of course you are welcome to book in for both.

COST OF A WORKSHOP:

$30 covers both parent and child for one of the sessions (1 hour 15 minutes)

This session is ideally for one parent and one child to experience/share. An additional child per parent can join for an extra $10.

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS:

Limited to: 10 children, 10 parents per session.

You will be able to pay at the Art Studio on the day. Card preferable.
