About Event:
Yoga classes which are suitable for beginners to advanced students and cater to all fitness levels and abilities, with plenty of modifications on offer.
Facilitated by a qualified Yoga instructor, the classes are held every Friday morning in the Wellbeing Centre.
Welcoming students of all levels, these practices focus on holding space to simply experience our bodies and to be aware of our inner landscape. Over time, they help us recognise how to sustain a balanced and equanimous state in daily life and nurture the qualities we truly wish to see grow within us.
Through these kind and profound practices, we invite you to observe how different asanas shape the sensation of the breath, explore the benefits of truly learning to relax, and experience breathing techniques (pranayamas) as tools to cultivate the quality and depth of your attention.
Looking for a day of movement, mindfulness, and calm? Start your day with yoga at 9am, deepen your practice with a teaching from our resident teacher Geshe Tsultrim at 10:30am in the Gompa, enjoy a wholesome lunch at the Big Love Cafe, and relax with a guided meditation at 1:15pm. You could even wander through the beautiful Garden of Enlightenment. What a beautiful day out!
ABOUT THE YOGA TEACHER
Jill Shaw-Feather has been sharing her love of yoga for over 20 years in Brisbane and internationally.
She is known for her compassionate teaching style and calming presence.
Her unique blend of mindful movement and focus on breath and presence creates a safe space for students to develop and deepen their practice at their own pace.
Heart-led asana • deep focus on the breath • surrendering into the healing state of Yoga Nidra.
Jill’s classes and workshops are open to all students, offering different levels of challenge as she gently guides students to move deeper into this ancient and profoundly healing practice.
She is deeply grateful for her teachers, with whom she continues to study, and to all her students—new and old.
Location and Time
These classes are held in the Wellbeing Centre, located at the end of the second car park area, or in the beautiful Garden of Enlightenment, weather permitting.
Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes early to set up your mat in the Wellbeing Center or to walk to the Garden of Enlightenment, and settle in for a wonderful hour of mindful movement and meditation.
BYO mat is preferred as we continue to promote a healthy environment for all.
Registration and Pricing
Spaces are limited, so please register below to secure your spot.
Class price is $12 per session. A percentage of the proceeds supports the Yoga teacher and Chenrezig Institute.
The Big Love Cafe will be open for chai, coffee, tea, and a selection of tasty treats. If you wish to stay for a delicious vegetarian lunch at 12pm, please book at least 24 hours in advance.
