Annual 8 sets of Nyung Näs with Venerable Ailsa Cameron

  • Chenrezig Institute 33 Johnsons Road Eudlo, QLD, 4554 Australia (map)

About Event:

A Nyung Nä retreat is a two-day meditation, fasting and purification practice of Thousand-Armed Chenrezig, the Buddha of Compassion. It is an extremely powerful way to heal illnesses, purify negative karma and open the heart to compassion. It is an effective spiritual, mental and physical detox.

This series of Nyung Nä retreats  in 2025 will be eight individual two-day retreats, back to back and starts with preparation and introduction on the afternoon/evening of 26th May 2025 and ends with the Big Breakfast on the morning after Saka Dawa on 12th June 2025.

Each two-day Nyung Nä involves taking the eight Mahayana precepts, and doing prayers, mantra recitations and prostrations. The second day includes silence and fasting for 24 hours (taking no food or water)..

Participants may choose to attend all eight retreats or individual retreats.  Even doing just one Nyung Nä is an extremely powerful method of purifying negativity and accumulating merit. No specific empowerments are needed.

About the retreat leader:

Ordained in 1987, Venerable Ailsa Cameron is a close student of Lama Zopa Rinpoche and has been editing his teachings since 1984 for the Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archive. Venerable Ailsa has led the annual Nyung Nä retreats at Chenrezig Institute for twenty-five years.

Make mountains of merit by sponsoring someone to attend…

If you are unable to attend these hugely beneficial retreats yourself at this very auspicious time, you could consider sharing the merit by sponsoring someone else to attend. Sponsor one retreat for one person, or any number of retreats for any number of people!

And on the other hand if you are struggling to cover the costs, please let us know and we’ll do our best to help you with reduced prices and keep an eye out for possible sponsorships.

Contact spc@chenrezig.com.au either way.

Accommodation will need to be booked through info@chenrezig.com.au and will be opened for those attending all eight Nyung Näs on 1st March 2025.

Registration

Those planning to attend all eight of the Nyung Näs will be given priority. We will open registration for these people from Saturday 1st March 2025 and only those intending to attend all 8 retreats will able to register and book their accommodation until Saturday 5th April.

After that date (5th April) people wishing to attend less than the full eight retreats will be able to register and book accommodation if places still remain.

The number of participants will be limited, so the number of places available for the single retreats will depend on the number registering for the full eight retreats.

The charge for the eight Nyung Näs is the very special price of $864 (ie $108 for each one) which includes food and accommodation.

Contact spc@chenrezig.com.au if you have any queries or wish to apply for financial assistance.
