Gargoyle and Buddha statues painted.

About Event:

The Chenrezig Institute Art Studio is happy to offer two workshop options:

1st - 10am to 12noon

2nd - 1pm to 3pm

Nessy Kalns will be guiding participants in painting outdoor or indoor sculptures. Nessy will demonstrate the technique of graphite rendering and burnishing, creating a more accentuated, antique-looking result.

Participants will be able to choose from a variety of plaster or concrete statues made at the Art Studio, which they can purchase on the day, paint and take home with them. Paints, graphite, brushes and other materials will be provided as part of the workshop.

Conducted in a sheltered-outdoor part of the Studio that overlooks the forest, these open air workshops are limited to four participants at a time.

About Teacher:

Nessy Kalns

When Nessy is not nursing, she has been volunteering some of her time at the Garden of Enlightenment painting stupas. Being the kind, generous and innovative lady that she is, Nessy offered to come and demonstrate a few new and nifty techniques in painting statues at the art studio, which have added a sparkle to the gallery shop.  Now Nessy has humbly agreed to our invitation for her to share her techniques with others, with the hope that participants will get to enjoy the pleasure of her sweet company and the experience of painting in the CI Art Studio.
