The Six Perfections: The Practice of the Bodhisattvas - Weekend Retreat with Geshe Tsultrim

  • Gompa - Chenrezig Institute 33 Johnsons Road Eudlo, QLD, 4554 Australia (map)

About Event:

The Sanskrit word paramita means “gone beyond,” and the Six Perfections are key practices of bodhisattvas — those who turn away from self-centeredness and dedicate their lives to helping others.

These practices arise from bodhichitta, the wish to attain enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. Each perfection is complete on its own, yet also supports the others, including the wisdom of emptiness. By practicing them together, a bodhisattva generates limitless positive potential — whether actively helping others or simply resting. Even during sleep or unconsciousness, the mind remains free from self-cherishing and continues to create vast merit.

The Six Perfections form a complete path of transformation:

  • Generosity

  • Morality

  • Patience

  • Perseverance

  • Concentration

  • Wisdom

Geshe Tsultrim will guide us through an in-depth explanation of each perfection, helping us understand how to integrate them into daily life and cultivate awakening for the benefit of all beings.

About our Teacher:

Geshe Phuntsok Tsultrim is immensely popular for the warm and approachable way in which he presents the Dharma and inspires our community. He became a monk in Tibet and did extensive study at Sera Je Monastery in India, where he was awarded his Geshe degree (the equivalent of a doctorate in Buddhist studies) in 2005. He began teaching at Chenrezig Institute in 2014 after being chosen for our community by Lama Zopa Rinpoche. He teaches in Tibetan with the help of an interpreter.

Geshe Tsultrim has a warm hearted, caring and practical approach to teaching Dharma. He has been the resident Geshe at Chenrezig Institute since 2014. Since then he has taught Dharma both in the Gompa and by the example he sets outside of the Gompa.
