Three Day White Tara Retreat with Ven Tony Beaumont

  • Chenrezig Institute 33 Johnsons Road Eudlo, QLD, 4554 Australia (map)

About Event:

Glorious White Tara is the healer of all ills and giver of long life.

Following the White Tara empowerment from Geshe Doga in early November, this retreat offers a valuable opportunity for new students to learn the practice and for experienced students to deepen their understanding.

The retreat includes guided group practice sessions designed to help students become familiar with key aspects of the practice—such as the recitation and meaning of the White Tara mantra and associated visualizations.

The teachings and practice of White Tara are deeply beneficial in daily life, helping to cultivate clarity, calm, and inner joy. Those who receive the empowerment and commit to the practice can expect to enhance their spiritual vitality, expand their capacity for compassion, and begin to overcome deep-rooted fears—including the fear of death.

This retreat is dedicated to the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and all our teachers.

About our Retreat Leader:

Ven Tony first made contact with the Buddha-dharma in Nepal and India in 1976. Following this, he trained and worked for four years as a psychiatric nurse, and then in the 1980s was based at Chenrezig Institute during which time he served at different times as the cook, office worker, and gardener.

Following ordination as a monk in 1991, he lived for seventeen years at two different FPMT monasteries, at Nalanda Monastery in France and at Thubten Shedrup Ling monastery in Bendigo, where he served as director. He has led retreats and courses at various FPMT centres throughout the world, as well as teaching in prisons and schools.
