About Event: “How can we utilise this precious human rebirth in the best way if we don’t know, understand and abandon the 8 Worldly Dharmas?
Drawn from Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s book How to Practice the Dharma this weekend course will explore what the Eight Worldly Dharmas are, why they are a problem for us, and how we can develop our practice and our happiness by learning how to abandon them.
Lama Zopa says letting go of the thought of the Eight Worldly Dharmas is the basic message of Buddhism. So wherever we might find ourselves in this life, one thing is for sure, the more we understand the Eight Worldly Dharmas, the greater our chance to be free of suffering. “
The 8 worldly Dharmas Include 4 sets of opposites;
Wanting to have gain vs loss
Wanting good reputation vs bad reputation
Wanting praise vs blame
Wanting pleasure vs emotional discomfort
