Three Day Lamrim Meditation Retreat with Ven Tony Beaumont

  • Chenrezig Institute 33 Johnsons Road Eudlo, QLD, 4554 Australia (map)

About Event:

“The most important and best way to benefit others is to develop your heart and mind on the path to enlightenment. When you complete the path to enlightenment you will be fully qualified to liberate numberless sentient beings from oceans of samsaric suffering and bring them to full enlightenment. This is what sentient beings need and this is what is most beneficial for them. There is no greater success than this. This depends upon your actualizing the path to enlightenment by meditating on the lamrim.”

 Lama Zopa Rinpoche

This three-day Lamrim meditation retreat is for those who have an understanding, interest, and affinity for the teachings of the Lamrim, the Graduated Path to Enlightenment. It is a wonderful opportunity for all those who would like to reflect and meditate more deeply on the profound teachings of Lama Tsongkhapa, which are also presented in the January Kopan-Down-Under Lamrim retreat course taught by Geshe Tsultrim.

During this three-day retreat Ven. Tony will lead participants through the stages of the path in multiple guided meditation sessions each day.

This retreat is especially recommended for Discovering Buddhism students as a part of their ongoing study program, as well as for everyone who is interested in deepening their understanding of the Lamrim subjects.

About our Retreat Leader:

Ven Tony first made contact with the Buddha-dharma in Nepal and India in 1976. Following this, he trained and worked for four years as a psychiatric nurse, and then in the 1980s was based at Chenrezig Institute during which time he served at different times as the cook, office worker, and gardener.

Following ordination as a monk in 1991, he lived for seventeen years at two different FPMT monasteries, at Nalanda Monastery in France and at Thubten Shedrup Ling monastery in Bendigo, where he served as director. He has led retreats and courses at various FPMT centres throughout the world, as well as teaching in prisons and schools.
