About Event:
Come and join Jane for a gentle morning at the Chenrezig Institute Art Studio to learn how to draw the Buddha's Face. The class is suitable for absolute beginners, as well as artists interested in learning the traditional methods of buddhist drawing and painting. You will learn how to work out the proportions of the Buddha's portrait using a traditional grid system passed down through the lineage by our teacher, Andy Weber . The grids are the foundation of traditional art, therefore this method gives a foundation for anyone interested in learning to draw or paint a thangka (a painting usually depicting a Buddhist deity or mandala).
When: 1st Saturday morning of each month,
Time: 10 am – 12 midday (but please arrive at 9.45 for a 10.00am start)
Bring: Participants need to bring A3 drawing paper, HB pencil, eraser, long and short ruler if possible and a compass.
