Draw and Paint the Auspicious Fish Symbol

  • Chenrezig Institute 33 Johnsons Road Eudlo, QLD, 4554 Australia (map)

About Event:

The auspicious symbols are commonly seen in Tibetan art and artefacts. They may be see as decorations on items such as carpets, or articles in use in the kitchen etc and are thought to bring luck and protection to those using them.

The auspicious fish has many meanings such as happiness, fidelity, spontaneity amongst other. However the unique feature of the fish is that they are able to swim untroubled in turbulent water.

In this one day workshop participants will learn a simple way to draw , then paint a pair of traditional auspicious fish. The image can then become a treasured card or a small special stand-alone art piece.

Participants will also be invited to join in brief meditation relating to the meaning of the sacred fish. This will enhance the experience of spending a day creating a traditional image in the unique environment of the Art Studio at Chenrezig Institute.
